Montenegro Yacht Charter Information
Montenegro is a country located in the southeastern of Europe and is bordered by Albania in the South and
Croatia to the North on the Southern Adriatic Sea.
The Montenegro coast stretches over 293 km long and is dotted with about 73km of beaches which spread over not less than 117 locations which have made Montenegro an ideal cruising ground to charter a yacht.
Montenegro’s historical town,
Kotor, is a city which is located within the Gulf of Kotor
and it lies in an extensive and spectacular area comprising of 3 basins which are dwarfed by some steep mountains rising up to almost 1000m and is dotted with numerous long sandy beaches along the popular resorts of
Budva and Ulcinj.
Montenegro is a renowned yacht charter destination in the Adriatic Sea which has a coast of around 190 miles. A cruising permit is required to sail in the area which is available on arrival. There are 3 main seaports in the area and most of them are located in the town of
Bar, Kotor and Zelenika.
The port of Bar
is the largest in the country and it is at the same time a cargo and passenger port. It represents an important transport connection between Montenegro and the rest of the world. There are 2 ports in the Boka Kotorska bay, the port of Zelenika and the port of Kotor.
The towns of Ulcinj, Budva,
Tivat, Kotor, Bar, Zelenika and Herceg Novi offer the best equipped marinas in the area.
You will also have the occasion to sail towards Budva which is dotted with numerous narrow streets and squares with churches, galleries, cafes, restaurants, shops and boutiques, where you can while away the day enjoy the beauty of the mountain scenery and a very lively atmosphere in the Old Town.
Along your sailing route, you will also come across Milocer and Sveti Stefan. In Milocer, you can enjoy a stroll along the small beach of Przno where you will find some fine seafood restaurants, cafes and bars. You can also sail towards
Herceg Novi.
Another place to visit
is Sutamore,
the most popular resort in the area
renowned for long sandy beaches and numerous restaurants.
There are also Ulcinj and Bojana which is worth a visit and Ada Bojana which is well-known for its long sandy beaches which offer endless possibilities to escape from the everyday urban life either through sunbathing and swimming.
