Madagascar is an island nation which lies in the Indian Ocean off the southeastern coast of Africa and it is the 4th largest island in the world. It is considered like no other places else on earth and it is barely qualified as part of Africa.

The 2 continents are separated by kilometers of sea and 165 million years of evolution, a long time enough for the animals and the plants to evolve into some of the weirdest forms on the planet.

Nowhere else in the world you will see the 70 varieties of lemur, the world’s biggest and smallest chameleons or the elephant bird, which is the largest bird that ever lived. The island of Madagascar is renowned for its uniqueness due to the diversity of its peoples, its incomparable nature fame, unexplored coral reefs and many attractions.

Madagascar is also a major yacht charter destination in the Indian Ocean and there are numerous sandy beaches, islands and its crystalline waters are dotted with some beautifully colored coral reefs.

On the northern part of the island, you can visit the Parc National de Montagne d’Ambre. The park lies over 18200 hectares of volcanic massifs and was created in 1958. A luxuriant forest covers a large portion of the park which is home to 7 lemur species, 70 rare species of birds and there is the famous crater lake of Petit Lac that is worth a visit, it lies on the most northern part of the park.

Madagascar is considered as a heaven for the yacht charterers and is a gateway to numerous beautiful beaches and islands around the area. Most of the yacht charter tourists are concentrated on the volcanic island of Nosy Be, which is the biggest and most populated Malagasy island.

You will also have the opportunity to visit the Masoala peninsula home to some fascinating rainforests and lemurs and also renowned for offering some of the finest beaches and reefs of Madagascar.
