Madagascar is an island nation which lies in the Indian Ocean off the southeastern coast of Africa and it is the 4th largest island in the world. It is considered like no other places else on earth and it is barely qualified as part of Africa.
The 2 continents are separated by kilometers of sea and 165 million years of evolution, a long time enough for the animals and the plants to evolve into some of the weirdest forms on the planet.
Nowhere else in the world you will see the 70 varieties of lemur, the world’s biggest and smallest chameleons or the elephant bird, which is the largest bird that ever lived.
