Elba is a Mediterranean island in Tuscany lying a few kilometers away from the coastal town of Piombino. It is the largest island in the Tuscan archipelago and is part of the National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago.
Elba is located between the Tyrrhenian and the Ligurian Seas at about 50km from the French island of Corsica. The island of Elba is renowned for its ever-glorious setting of spectacular beaches, blue waters, mountain trekking and mind-bending views all implemented by some very fine cuisine.
Elba is well-known for its typical coastal climate rendered mild by the sea even during winter, making it an ideal holiday destination and also a major yacht charter destination in Italy. There are 2 ports in Elba, Porto Azzurro, located to the East of the island offering more than 222 berths for yachts measuring up to 20m long and Portoferraio and by far the most important port, lies on the northern side of the island, it is a sheltered marina offering 140 berths for bigger yachts measuring up to 70m long.
Anchorage outside the harbor is also possible and is free of charge. Most of the visitors come to the island of Elba due to the numerous opportunities offered in terms of leisure and cultural enrichment.
There are numerous historical events, sporting events, concerts and village fairs held during the old traditions are renewed to attract both visitors and locals.
