The Blue Peter is run out of Cannes, in the heart of the famous Cote D'Azur. Just an afternoon sail from Monaco, St Tropez, Villefranche, Antibes or Nice. The Blue Peter is kept in immaculate condition and is admired throughout the Mediterranean. The Blue Peter is run by a highly experienced captain and crew, so you can relax knowing that you are in safe hands.

The Blue Peter is ideal for all kinds of charter, from a day out with friends and family lunching at anchor, through to corporate hospitality and teambuilding exercises. Not forgetting what she is best at, leading the fleet around one of the many Mediterranean classic yacht regattas! What ever event you chose, The Blue Peter and her crew are guaranteed to make it an event to remember.

The Blue Peter was launched in 1930, although the teak used in the construction of her hull was brought from Thailand in 1870. She was designed by Alfred Mylne and built by W. King & Sons of Burnham-on-Crouch. Her first owner Desmond Molins decided in 1938 that he wanted a bigger boat, but he loved The Blue Peter so much that he decided to have her lengthened by nearly 10 feet. She remains true to these plans to this day. She was named The Blue Peter for luck, after the 'P' flag, which is used as the preparatory signal before starting a race.

It worked, The Blue Peter won over 50 races in and around the south coast of England over the next 20 years, sailing out of The Royal Corinthian Yacht Club in Burnham-on-Crouch. The Blue Peter passed into Italian ownership after the war. She had three different Italian owners before her present owner, Mathew Barker, bought her in 1999. The Blue Peter is a beautiful yacht, from a first class designer and builder, and is maintained in superb condition.

Pricing Details

50% of the charter fee will be paid to secure the charter and the remaining 50% is due one month before the charter date. APA of between 20-30% depending on the itinerary.

What is the "APA"?

This is the Advance Provisioning Allowance. The APA essentially creates abank account for the Captain of the Boat to provision on your behalf. Generally a percentage will be added on to the base charter fee - 20% to 30% depending on the itinerary. You will pay this with your final charter payment. The Captain is obligated to keep all receipts and balance the account for you, and you can check the expenditure level at any time.

Any amounts not used will be refunded to you at the end of the charter. There are no mark ups on this - all of the funds go to buying fuel, food, etc. It's a simple way of getting the boat provisioned properly, with minimal hassle and straightforward record keeping.

Seven Day Charter South of France

Day 1 - Cruise to Cannes from St Laurent du Var

Embark onboard the Yacht at St Laurent du Var which is a 5 minute taxi ride from the Nice Airport.

From there, you can have a short cruise to Cannes.

Enjoy a nice dinner in a restaurant on the Croisette in Cannes such as Carlton or Martinez.

Or in the old town on Rue St Antoine.

Spend the first night on board the yacht in the Port of Cannes.

Wake up to see the sun glistening on the famous le Suquet hill overlooking Cannes.

Day 2 - Cannes to St Tropez

Have your breakfast on deck in the Port of Cannes. Depart the Port of Cannes at lunch time.

Anchor in the Bay of Cannes for late lunch. Afternoon water activities looking onto the famous Croisette

Lift anchor late afternoon for a sunset cruise to St. Tropez (about 1 hour).

Spend the night in the Port of St. Tropez, where you can have dinner and explore the romantic village.

You can finish the night with a visit to the Cave du Roi nightclub.

Day 3 - St Tropez and Pampelonne Beach

Enjoy breakfast in the port of St. Tropez.

After breakfast, you can go ashore to visit the quaint village and the beautiful boutiques.

Depart the Port by early afternoon for lunch on the famous Pampelone beach with the well-known Club 55.

However, reservations have to be made well beforehand specially during the high season.

Return to St. Tropez port for another evening on the town.

Day 4 - Port Cros Island

Breakfast in the port of St. Tropez.

Depart the Port for the Iles de Port Cros, towards Marseille.

Anchor in the bay at Port Cros Nature Reserve and visit the island.

Return to your yacht for dinner at anchor.

Remain at anchor for a restful night between the Islands.

Day 5 - Porquerolles Island and Cruise to Villefranche

Wake up at anchor and have breakfast on board.

After breakfast cruise to Iles de Porquerolles, a beautiful and nearly undeveloped island.

Visit the Island and hire bicycles to cycle around since no cars are allowed on the island.
After lunch, you can go swimming and water skiing or jet skiing.
Lift anchor in the late afternoon and cruise to beautiful Villefranche bay.
You can dine in the port of Villefranche, or perhaps get a table at the renowned Grand Hotel du Cap Ferrat.
Spend the night on board in Villefranche.

Day 6 - St Jean Cap Ferrat, Nice and Lerin Islands

Have breakfast on the deck and enjoy swimming & waterskiing or jet skiing.

Cruise around St Jean Cap Ferrat while having lunch on the yacht deck.

Then past Nice, and the famous Promenade des Anglais.

Anchor off between the Lerin Islands of Cannes, where you can swim for the afternoon.

Remain at anchor for the night and enjoy a nice and quiet dinner on board.

Day 7 - Disembark in Cannes

Have your breakfast on the aft deck.

You can also enjoy some last minute swimming.

Head back to Cannes for disembarkation.
