Koper has the most amazing view of the Istrian Peninsula. Water sports activities are part of local lifestyle, regattas are commonly seen in the Koper Bay. There is also a small marina in this part of town. Izola is another town where the luxury yachts can be seen. Simonov Zaliv located on the eastern area of the town has resorts along the seaside with hotels and restaurants. The marina on the other hand is located on the western part of Izola. Izola also welcomes many regattas and sailing competitions. The coloured sails against the azure background of the high sea make splendid sight. All yachts are afforded a haven within the new Marina, which is well equipped and offers a full range of services.
The Piran is located on the border of the Piran Peninsula and is considered as the oldest seaport in Slovenia. From the decks of the yachts, while still on water, the medieval features of the town can easily be recognized. But though the town is preserved this does not mean that new establishments weren’t built. While you are there, do not forget to visit the Sergej Masera Maritime Museum. There are also cultural institutions as well as cultural shows so check their schedule if you would like to watch.
