Tahiti is an archipelago which lies in the lonely waters of the Pacific, halfway between Australia and California. Their location puts them right in the middle of the ocean and far from any other continents. The French Polynesia is made up of 118 islands which include the Society, Marquesas, the Austral islands, the Gambier Islands and the Tuamotu Archipelago.

The Society Islands include the famous Tahiti, Bora Bora, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea and Taha’a, the Tuamotu, Rangiroa, Manihi, Tikehau, Fakarava and Marquesa Atolls. The 3 most popular island of the Society archipelago are Tahiti which is also the largest island in the French Polynesia, Mooreea and Bora Bora and are considered to be some of the most beautiful tropical islands in the world.

The waterfront is very attractive; the area is dotted with tree lined promenades along a marina which forms part of the international yachting community. The best time to charter a yacht in Tahiti is in April. It is the time when there are the most easterly trade winds which are very favorable for sailing.The Tahitian’s main yacht charter grounds are around the Leeward Islands (Iles Sous le Vent) which is at the northern end of the island chain.
