Pozzallo is a town which lies on the province of Ragusa on the island of Sicily. The town extends about 2 km on the Mediterranean Sea and is located on the southern coast of the island.
Pozzallo is renowned for its 2 major and most popular beaches dotted with thin and gilt sand and since 2002, they have been awarded the Blue Flag, for their remarkable cleanliness and being the most equipped beaches in Italy.
The town of Pozzallo usually comes alive during the summer season when both the locals and the visitors come in the area to spend a good time and during the winter, it is appreciated as a good place to relax.
Most of the beaches in the area are lined with numerous cafes, bars, restaurants and shops where you can stroll down the streets, sip on an aperivito or sample some of the local produce.
Pozzallo is also a renowned yacht charter destination in the area and the Marina Pozzallo lies halfway along the southern coast of the island and offers reasonable protection against all winds except from the North.
The Marina Pozzallo can accommodate up to 120 yachts having a maximum length of 25m and is very close to the marinas located in Syracuse.
Pozzallo hosts a large number of interesting sites that are worth visiting, the most popular points of interest are the many churches and the famous Cabrera Tower which became a National Monument and a symbol of the town.
A few kilometers from the town, you will have the opportunity to visit the Baroque of Val di Noto and its surrounding area, the Iblea Patrimony of UNESCO like Ragusa or Modica which is also called the city of hundred churches.
The Natural Reserve Macchia Forest River Irmino which lies on the archeological area of Kamarina is also worth visiting and its Archaeological Museum of Kamarina is interesting too.
The museum hosts all the archaeological finds from the city, from the necropolis of Kamarina and its neighboring territory.
