El Arenal or S’Arenal is a town which lies on the eastern coast of the Bay of Palma on the island of Mallorca in Spain. It is a lively and highly developed holiday resort and is dotted with a long, palm-lined beach which is perfect for stretching out on a sun-lounger and enjoying the calm waters.
Most visitors who come into the area are attracted to its waterfront promenade where you can stroll down and enjoy the views especially at sunset, walk by various shops, bars and restaurants. The seaside promenade is also a great way to unwind and visit the neighboring resort of Can Pastilla.

During your visit in the area you will have the opportunity to explore the beach of El Arenal which is in fact the Eastern end of the same beach as that of Playa de Palma. It is a popular resort with lots of restaurants and plenty of bars and nightclubs.
During your visit in El Arenal, you are particularly recommended to explore the Balnearios, which is the 16 small beach huts that run from El Arenal to Can Pastilla, one of which has been turned into a German-style bar.
El Arenal also offers a vibrant nightlife and you can visit the Joy Palace which is a popular spot where you can enjoy the mixture of dance, Latino and house music. During the summer seasons, you will see some of the top DJs like DJ Sammy, and DJ Quicksilver playing in the nightclub there.
You can also enjoy a sea excursion along the coast and sail to the beautiful city of Palma and visit its Gothic cathedral and its narrow winding streets full of traditional tapas bars, jewelry shops and designer boutiques. If you are in the area in summer, you can enjoy the various summer fairs or Carnival in February. In the area, there is always a time for celebrating a fiesta and enjoying music, dances and happiness in the streets.
You can also visit the Caves of Drach nearby the pearl factory and best of all, enjoy the famous liqueur tasting. You can also sail further down the coast and visit the nudist beach at Es Trenc further down the coast.
Continuing your route you will reach Can Pastilla which is a small pretty family oriented resort with a narrow main street which winds down to the picturesque harbor and there is also a fabulous marina with stunning yachts.
