Formentera is the smallest and the southernmost island of the Illes Pitiuses island group which also includes Ibiza.
The only way to get to the island of Formentera is by boat or yacht from Ibiza and it is also for this particular reason that it is a renowned yacht charter destination in the area.
It is also known for its numerous pristine beaches and is also one of the main spots where nude sunbathing is authorized on most of its beaches.
The sea can be seen from practically any point of the island and offers an excellent cruising ground where you will discover many great beaches, lonely bays, and various incredible grottos.
Adding to this, Formentera also enjoys a perfect climate with springtime temperatures throughout the whole year with a rich vegetation of pine trees in a quiet relaxed atmosphere that make the island like a true paradise.
On the western part of the island, you will find some interesting marinas like Marina de Formentera which is a small marina that can accommodate only 64 yachts measuring up to 38m long and Formentera Mar SA located in Sant Francesc de Formentera, which offers 93 berths for yachts having a maximum length of 30m long.
The Peix and the Prudent lakes can be found on the western side of the island and the La Savina Port is the only important safe shipping harbor which can be found between both lakes.
Both marinas in Formentera are within easy distance to Marina Botafoch in Ibiza town, Club Nautico de San Antonio Abad and Puerto Deportivo de Eutalia.
While chartering your yacht along the coast of the island of Formentera, you will have the opportunity to discover many interesting sights.
