Medulin is a seaside village located at the southern tip of the Peninsula of Istria in Croatia and lies at about 10 km to the South of Pula. It is renowned to be one of the most famous bathing resorts on the Adriatic coast.
Medulin’s bay is considered as an ideal spot to practice various waters sports and is dotted with a typical Mediterranean climate which contributes to make it one of the favorite yacht charter bases in the area.
Its marina lies opposite the Medulin archipelago, with its 10 islets which represent a special natural attraction for most visitors. It is also an ideal starting point in the area for yacht trips in the Kvarner bay.
The marina of Medulin is also within easy distance to some of the marinas in Pula like the Pula ACI marina, Veruda marina and Marina Pomer.
Most visitors come to the area for its numerous sports facilities offered and it is also a haven for lovers of music and dance as there are numerous entertainments on the many open terraces that line the marina.
During your visit in the area, it is particularly recommended to explore the town which is also famous for the quality of its numerous concerts of classical music which usually take place in summer.
The summer season in Medulin means abundance of music and there are also many sports events held like the Sanpjero cup, a traditional competition for various games.
The traditional carnival of Medulin held in February every year is not to missed either and throughout the whole year there are several important and interesting events like the St James Apostle’s Day or the Patron Saint of Medulin.
You will also find numerous restaurants scattered around the town which represents a real challenge for the gourmands. There is also a large choice between modern cuisines or traditional dishes made of fish, meat and vegetables.
You will have the opportunity to explore Medulin’s 80km of indented coastline which are characterized by sandy, pebbly and rocky beaches, some of them without shelter from the summer heat and other where you will get a pleasant shade under the centuries-old pine trees with their branches bending over the blue sea.
You can also enjoy some mountain-biking along the coast of the Nature Park Cape Kamenjak with an occasional dip in its crystal-clear sea.
