Saint Vincent and The Grenadines Yacht Charter Information
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines lies in the Southern part of the Windward Islands at about 75 miles of Grenada and 24 miles to the South of St Lucia. It is an archipelago which contains about 32 islands and cays; the largest island is St Vincent which covers about 150 Sq miles.
Saint Vincent and Grenadine are renowned yacht charter destinations in the Caribbean and are often considered as the best kept yacht charter secret of the area. It is a perfect cruising playground to visit the beautiful islands of the archipelago and is an easy sailing route towards other interesting destinations in the area.
Only 7 islands of the Grenadines are populated, it is composed of: Bequia, Mustique, Mayreau, Union Island, Palm Island, the Tobago Cays, Petit St Vincent (PSV).
All the islands of the archipelago of St Vincent and Grenadines are of volcanic origin and they are deeply embellished with inlets where clear aquamarine waters wash up on fine white sand beaches.
Mustique is a famous location in the Caribbean Sea due to its famous annual Blues Festivals and the Hang Out of the Rolling Stones. Canouan lies on the centre of the Grenadines and to the southeast lay the island of Mayreau which is considered as a perfect sailing and diving spot.
The Tobago Cays on the other hand, is famous for its hiking activities. Most visitors come to the area to relax in its idyllic secluded beaches and the divers feel at ease as the Cays are protected by the Large Horseshoe Reef and Wildlife Reserve which offers some of the Worlds finest diving spot.
Every year from the 18th of January till the 4th of February, all the islands of the archipelago are swarmed with the Blues fanatics who come to attend the famous St Vincent and Grenadines Blues Festivals. There are many local, regional and international artists who come to perform on the 17th day of the festival.
Saint Vincent and the Grenadines are a renowned yacht charter destination in the Caribbean. During a cruise in the area, yacht charterers will have the unique opportunity to visit all the islands of the archipelago and explore the most famous beaches around the area.
Most of the yachts start their itineraries from the harbor of St Vincent before the head towards the other islands. Bequia lies at about 9 miles to the South of St Vincent and is considered as a gateway to some of the best sailing in the Caribbean.
The Salt Whistle Bay nearby is considered as of the most exquisite anchorages in the Caribbean only reachable by boat.
