About Palma de Mallorca
The city of Palma is a fitting capital, not only of Mallorca, but also of the Balearic islands. Set in the beautiful bay of Palma, famous for its stunning sunsets, the city’s most imposing site is the huge 13th century cathedral. This beautiful building is close to the 10th century Arab baths and the gateway to the city’s old quarter of narrow winding streets and ornate squares where orange and olive trees give shade to the many charming street cafés. Part of Palma’s charm is that it is also a very developed society. Its population of just over 300,000 is among the most diverse to be found in Spain. The Mallorcans themselves are descended from a mix that includes Spanish, Arabs and Carthaginians, and today they share their island with people from all over Spain and Europe, as well as with a substantial population of South American and African migrants.

Venue & Travel
The Superyacht Cup is hosted in the heart of historic Palma at the Muelle Viejo. Just 10 minutes from the airport and within walking distance of Palma old town, hotels and shops, the event is ideally located for owners and crews alike. For the non-sailors, there is plenty to do in Palma including excursions around the island and visits to some of Mallorca’s most historic sites and landmarks.

Getting to Palma
Palma de Mallorca airport (PMI) is very accessible from anywhere in Europe and during June, many of the low cost and charter airlines run daily flights to the island. See www.skycanner.com for airlines and quotes.
On arrival in Palma:
By Taxi:
A taxi ride to central Palma will cost approx.€20 and take 10-15 minutes. If you are heading for the Superyacht Cup, ask for the Muelle Viejo.
