Cannes is an old port town on a beautiful crescent Mediterranean bay backed by mountains. At either end of the long crescent are ports, the Old Port to the west and the newer Port Canto, to the east. They are connected by the delightful Croisette, with beach on one side and designer shops and classy hotels on the other. Circle around the beautiful bay to see the town and Croisette from the water and zip over the the two islands just off the coast called the Iles de Lerins. There is clear water for snorkelling and usually plenty of boats to check out between the two islands. You can go out for a hike around the islands to see the monastery and the dungeon where the Man in the Iron Mask was held or you can visit the city.
Back to St. Tropez:
After an amazing day you have to go back to St. Tropez which takes you approximately one hour in a motor boat and you will see all the beautiful spots in the afternoon or sunset light.
If you would like to leave from Cannes to St. Tropez you just take the itinerary the other way around.
